{Editors Note: This is a little something passed on to us from ForestEthics}: The Tar Sands of Alberta, Canada is the largest and fastest growing fossil fuel project in the world. Development is releasing toxic emissions and leveling huge swaths of fragile Boreal Forest and poisoning down stream communities. Most of the oil is being mined for US consumption and processed at US refineries, having devastating impacts far beyond Canada’s border. This month the Premiers of Canada met in Vancouver to discuss climate change, and ForestEthics — along with our supporters and allies — was there to shine a spotlight on the fact that the good efforts of many Canadians to reduce emissions and fight global warming are being wiped out by the massive emissions from the Tar Sands.
