This summer, I, along with the rest of my classmates, will be dispersed throughout the province for a one month clerkship in rural communities. This is an attempt to encourage more physicians to relocate and practice in rural areas of our province, where there is a tremendous need for primary care physicians. However, my class needs to fundraise in order to cover some of our expenses. One of our fundraising events is a run that’s happening this Saturday. You can register online until midnight tonight, or show up on the day of and register then.

“Get ready for the 3rd annual Run for Rural Medicine with the UBC Medical Class of 2010, now a province-wide event for the very first time! On Saturday, April 5th at 9 am, join us for a beautiful 5 km walk or 10 km run through the trails of Pacific Spirit Park at UBC, as we and our classmates in Victoria and Prince George raise money for our UBC Rural Family Medicine Clerkships this summer throughout BC.”
