“RCMP Advisory: (Updated: 3:23 pm) There has been a police incident at the Bio Sciences Building, which is located at the intersection of Main Mall and University Boulevard at the University of British Columbia. more…”
I was walking back to my residence at UBC when while strolling past the Bio building, I noticed a crowd gathering. The entrances were taped off with bright yellow caution tape. After asking a few people in the growing crowd I learned that no one there really knew what was going on.
Then one students said she was told to either leave the building immediately or remain inside in lockdown. I heard whispers of a bomb threat, and of a bio threat.
Policemen stood guard at the doors and a fire truck and ambulance stood poised up by the shoppers drug mart on campus.
Later I was told by a friend who had been in Brock Hall, a significant distance away from the Bio building, had been told not to leave the building because there was a gun threat and that people should not be walking in the streets, while outside the usual afternoon traffic of UBC students flowed.
UBC will not specify or give details as to the event(s). I am highly curious as to what the news will say tonight. If any reader was there, would you like to add details? Share what has been learned about the events?

I was there it was pretty intense but I don’t think there was any threat at all. Somebody probably faked a gun threat or something. Luckily, nobody got hurt. Its all cool
I heard from my med-school cutie-pie that nobody was allowed to leave the building and peeps were pretty freaked out pretty much about nothing at all. Luckily, in retrospect, we can say “it was nothing at all” — alas, it’s a great phrase, a great tap on the back, to have nothing happen. As ironic and boring as it sounds.
all teachers were call, and told it was a bomb threat and tell students to stay clear of the bio building.
Cool. I’m glad no one got hurt. I was a little freaked out and got all caught up in the excitement.
