http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/dcf/aeb/dcfaebbc-0ebe-41a7-8c93-5d8e443b07ebI’ve been out of the loop for a bit, fixing up another space and running a thousand operations around the town. But here ya have it, I’m back, and I’m starting with a few articles to keep y’all captivated. The first is a gig I’m going to resurface at also, run by a bunch of sweetie artists from Main st. who I admire. Here are the deets:

The Fall Gallery is pleased to present Apocalepsy, a group art show and interactive installation project of the up-and-coming Vancouver artist collective Ecdysis.

Using materials largely rescued from dumpsters, back-alleys, and other forsaken places, as well as an eclectic selection of sculpture, paint, screenprint, assemblage, electroacoustic installation, scents, sound sensors, and junk, the Ecdysis collective will be building a lively shanty town-come-post-apocalyptic vortex.

Apocalepsy is a group art show exhibiting new visual works by:

Shea Allan McCachen, UBC MFA candidate
Ryan Proulx, UBC MArch. candidate
L. Basil McMahon, graduating student, UBC B.A. Interdisciplinary
Blake Schulhauser, graduating student, ECIAD
Atalay Harrison, graduating student, ECIAD
Soleil Martine-Johnson, graduating student, ECIAD
Plus others

The Ecdysis Collective brings together a crew of key collaborators from many of East Van’s most cutting-edge grassroots cultural groups, including the Inkspoon Print Syndicate (Inkspoon.org), the Dusty Flowerpot Cabaret (dustyflowerpot.org), Holopath Visuals (holopath.org), Lighta! Sound (soundsimple.ca/lightasound), The Work Less Party of Canada (worklessparty.org), and Playmore Theatre Company. We come together as a group of assemblage artists, social sculptors and city scavengers seeking to create a space for dreaming.
