Let’s get decisive shall we? I read that the city has changed their Plaza “design [at Queen Elizabeth Park] a whopping 85 times after the contract was signed. They say work was delayed for three months because the City hadn’t fixed the concrete slab underneath the plaza.” Is that what our taxpayer’s dollars are going towards, legal fees?
Let’s get crackin’ on at least another 250 social housing units that were promised, as part of the Olympic bid in the DTES — cuz it ain’t happening yet: “VANOC boss John Furlong says that includes a commitment to provide at least 250 social housing units, “In southeast False Creek which will happen and also an Aboriginal Housing Legacy in Whistler which will happen.”
Are we going to start acquitting everyone who’s guilty of a taser assault? Or did we just wait long enough to do so?
Do we need another study on how to help the homeless and develop more housing in the city? Are there not enough answers on how to get this DONE — especially with a budget surplus.
Are we addicted to laptops and, umm, why do post-secondary educators jump to that absurd conclusion: ‘And it really is an addiction. When I call a break, the laptops pop open, or the cellphones come out. It’s like teaching in a crack house.”
What are you doing with your “free” one-hun for the green: “I can’t change the fact that $440 million is going to be given away to BCers regardless of whether they make any positive changes in their fuel-gobbling lifestyles. But I can decide what to do with mine.”
Why do you need six months to watch a movie on the Environment? Let’s face it, “Garbage Warrior” has been played since the VIFF this October and we’re still talking about it: “Despite—or maybe because of—many errors along the way, Reynolds’s innovations end up bringing a measure of hope to our narrowing environmental future.” So, go see it!
