http://www.sott.net/image/image/517/climate-change-hurricane.jpgIs it true that the mountain pine beetle infestation is proof BC is already being affected by global warming…and it’s time to start planning for a hotter future, OR, rather, is it proof that BC has been slacking in most nature-management duties such as northern BC pine beetle infestations? Let’s discuss this, but I’m inclined to believe the latter. Hah, I’m sure 94 million dollars for a pacific institute study on how we should deal with the global climate change is wonderful — but we’re still not doing anything about it.

So what happens when you don’t report crimes around you? They affect the stats we get, and these in turn affect our social spending on these things, for starters. Statistics Canada is called upon to conduct criminal victimization surveys every year, to provide a more accurate snapshot of crime rates. Are these a good idea?

Baby boomers needs to realize that they may not be able to retire yet and this is why? Cuz you guys managed to fuck up so much around you, you’ve got to get cracking on trying to fix your damage. So, in short, oh baby boomers, you need not be afraid of growing older and working longer — you need be afraid of way more. Yes, this is changing the face of retirement, but it’s really doing so much more than that.

I read an interesting paper on why Canada ranks as a sub-nation of the US, and I’m curious about what y’all think: “while dealing with foreign affairs, the environment, military matters (part of foreign affairs), and other aspects involving international treaties and agreements, Canada very decidedly falls under the category of a ‘sub-nation’ to the United States.” Just one of the many lovely excerpts for ya.

Curious about your genetics and are you a believer? For fees ranging from $100 to $1,000, anyone curious and silly enough can peer into their genetic blueprint and unlock such urgent mysteries as why they don’t like celery, chocolate, sprouts, or why they can’t seem to shed those love handles, and whether they’ll kick the bucket at age 80 or, umm, 45. My question is, shouldn’t someone pay you to undergo such torture, instead?
