I’m trecking down to see Go Ghetto Tiger play a snazzy show-slash-partay at Pat’s Pub (403 E. Hastings St.) this Saturday night. If you haven’t heard GGT, I strongly advise you check these guys out. Just a month after their self-titled release i think they’re going to rock this town. My reasons are, and your reasons after you’ve seen them will be, as follows: I’ve rarely seen dedication shine this much in a bunch of guys. I see the seriousness with which they do things in their live shows and it instills the audience with the profundity of their songs. Among their influences, in my opinion, I would not hesitate to list Tangerine Dream, Air, By A Thread to Radio Berlin, MJ, Depeche Mode, Prince, and, not to mention The Faint. Their bohemian cuts of guitar, bass and synth interjects of playful drum loops, samples and melodic vocals often surpass the influences I just mentioned, especially for the live shows which offer great moments of such excess. I see potential not only on their Bass Cleff - in their punctuated bass-lines and jagged gits, and tempo changes, from driven to diminishing - but also on their Trebble Cleff of casually heated lyrics, and seemingly electro-pop electric guitar riffs. You, after a show, will indeed think they have incredible sound to give to the music lover.
GGT Tix. run at a measly 6$, and their start time is slated a @ 11:00PM sharp!. The lineup that nite includes: 2nd Floor Suicide, Go Ghetto Tiger, Scatterheart, and Fingersmoran. A great deal for the price of a LUGZ milkshake.
I trust we’ll see you there! But, and this is one last caveat, just in case you don’t, don’t fear! Just buy their tracks at iTunes, or pick up their latest record at Zulu and other independed retailers.
